SECTION IV—Jurisdiction

(A) Law enforcement officers employed by the Board shall be authorized to conduct law enforcement activities subject to the provisions of these regulations and any other applicable policies and procedures issued by the Board or the Board’s law enforcement manager consistent with these regulations.
(B) Law enforcement officers employed by a Reserve Bank shall be authorized to conduct law enforcement activities subject to the provisions of these regulations and any other applicable policies and procedures issued by that Reserve Bank or by the law enforcement manager of any law enforcement unit at that Reserve Bank consistent with these regulations.
(C) Law enforcement officers shall not have primary responsibility for the investigation or prosecution of criminal violations of law, including those occurring on Federal Reserve properties. Such investigations shall be referred to the appropriate law enforcement agency. Nothing in these regulations, however, shall preclude law enforcement officers from participating in internal investigations involving violations of Federal Reserve rules or policies or in investigations of any civil violations of United States law expressly within the enforcement authority of the Federal Reserve.
(D) A law enforcement officer is authorized to carry a firearm and make arrests only while on duty.
